سُورَةُ الجِنِّ · 72:14

وَأَنَّا مِنَّا ٱلْمُسْلِمُونَ وَمِنَّا ٱلْقَٰسِطُونَ ۖ فَمَنْ أَسْلَمَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ تَحَرَّوْا۟ رَشَدًۭا

Saheeh International · EN

And among us are Muslims [in submission to Allah], and among us are the unjust. And whoever has become Muslim - those have sought out the right course.

Introduction

This is āyah 14 of Sūrat Al-Jinn (The Jinn), the 40th sūrah in the traditional order of revelation. It was revealed in the Meccan period and sits within Juzʾ 29. Meccan verses tend to address faith, the oneness of God, and the hereafter.

'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary; we are groups having different ways. (11)'And we think that we cannot escape Allah in the earth, nor can we escape Him by flight. (12)'And indeed when we heard the Guidance, we believed therein, and whosoever believes in his Lord shall have no fear, either of a decrease in the reward of his good deeds or an increase in the punishment for his sins. (13)'And of us some are Muslims, and of us some are Al-Qasitun. And whosoever has embraced Islam, then such have sought the right path.' (14)And as for the Qasitun, they shall be firewood for Hell (15)If they had believed in Allah, and went on the way, We would surely have bestowed on them water in abundance (16)That We might try them thereby.
